About the Programme

The M.Tech in Structural Engineering (Working Professionals) is a two-year postgraduate programme offered by the Department of Civil Engineering, Central University of Kashmir. The programme is specifically designed for practicing engineers and industry professionals who wish to upgrade their technical knowledge and academic qualifications without interrupting their careers.

The curriculum covers advanced topics including structural analysis, finite element methods, earthquake-resistant design, concrete and steel structures, bridge engineering, and structural dynamics. Classes are structured to accommodate the schedules of working professionals, with flexible timings and a blend of coursework and industry-relevant project work.

The programme bridges the gap between academic theory and professional practice, enabling participants to apply advanced structural engineering concepts directly to real-world challenges. Graduates are well-equipped to take on senior technical roles, pursue research, or transition into academia.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must hold a B.E./B.Tech degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related branch with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) from a recognized university. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in the field of Civil/Structural Engineering at the time of admission. A valid GATE score is desirable but not mandatory. Final selection will be based on merit and criteria prescribed by Central University of Kashmir.
