About the Programme
The M.Tech in Structural Engineering is a two-year postgraduate programme offered by the Department of Civil Engineering, Central University of Kashmir. The programme is designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and technical expertise in the analysis, design, and construction of structures. It equips graduates with strong theoretical foundations and practical skills to address complex challenges in modern structural engineering.
The curriculum covers advanced topics including structural analysis, finite element methods, earthquake-resistant design, concrete and steel structures, bridge engineering, and structural dynamics. Students are trained to use state-of-the-art computational tools and are encouraged to undertake research in emerging areas of structural engineering.
The programme prepares graduates for careers in structural design firms, construction companies, government agencies, research institutions, and academia. It also lays a strong foundation for those wishing to pursue doctoral research in structural and allied engineering disciplines.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must hold a B.E./B.Tech degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or a related branch with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate (50% for SC/ST/PwD candidates) from a recognized university.
