The description of the University Logo:
- The University Logo is rooted in the unique culture of Kashmir, it meets the three language formula of Hindi, English and Kashmiri (National, International and Local) and also the internationalization of Higher Education as envisaged in NEP-2020.
- The ‘Inner Circular Frame’ of the Logo symbolizes the ‘Inclusive Policy of the University’.
- The ‘Ribbon Base’ on which the inner Circular Frame is resting depicts the ‘Strong Scholarly Values’ on which the foundation of the University will be laid.
- The leaf at the top end of the circle is a ‘Chinar Leaf’ that defines the ‘Unique Cultural and Geographical Identity of the State’. The Chinar Leaf symbolizes ‘Longevity, Strength, Refreshment and Source of Life’. The inception of the leaf also signifies the ‘Environmental Concern and Friendliness’ that this university will strive for in future.
- The ‘Olive Branches’ are a symbol of ‘Peace, Goodwill and Reconciliation’. The use of olive branch as a symbol of peace dates back to the 5th Century B.C. The 30 Pinnate Sessile Leaves, 15 on each side represent 30 weeks of an academic calendar.
- The ‘Book’ in the University Logo symbolizes the main function of the University i.e ‘Creation and Dissemination of knowledge’.
- The ‘Blue Color’ of the inner Rings stand for ‘Scholarly Intent’; ‘White Background’ stands for ‘Cleanliness’; ‘Green Color’ of leaf stands for ‘Youth’.
- The number of Pinnate Sessile Leaves is 15, on each side, representing 30 weeks of an Academic calendar.
- The colors have been taken from Saffron flower that grows abundantly in Kashmir in the country and is a royal spice with huge international demand. The colors of saffron flower aptly define the objectives and aspirations of this University with
- Purple color depicting royalty, nobility, luxury, power, aspiration, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace and pride.
- Orange color representing optimism, confidence, enthusiasm, warmth, and agreeableness.
- Red color is symbolizing passion, love and desire to achieve academic excellence.
- The Tulip flower in the outer circle symbolizes for fame and fortune and also represents internationalization. The Yellow color depicts positive feelings. Joy, happiness, and hope. It also boosts confidence and curiosity.
- The Sixteen Diamonds in outer rim of the logo represent the 16 Schools.
