The Department prepares students for the fast-changing communication and journalism profession through a mandatory internship (a minimum six-week attachment with a media organisation, advertising agency, PR institution or media research institute, undertaken after Semester III and carrying 4 credits) and Semester IV specialization/capstone media projects.
Assignments
During the Master's degree course assignments are given to students regularly according to subject-coursework. The assignments form an important component of CIA-Continuous Internal Assessment and come in the form of reading, practical work, presentations, written compilation, reporting, Piece to Camera exercises, short videos etc. The students are advised to take these assignments seriously and work hard to fetch themselves good grades as it is directly added to the total CIA internal grades along with attendance marks.
Graduates of the programme are prepared for roles such as:
Content managers, creative managers, reporters and editors
Public relations and social media specialists
Filmmakers, production managers, cinematographers and photojournalists
