Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, a Fellow Institute of Engineers (FIE), Fellow Telangana Akademi of Sciences is Presently serving as Vice-chancellor, Central University of Kashmir. He obtained qualifications (Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral) from four different universities viz., Kakatiya, Osmania, JNTUH and State University of New York, USA and also served in four different universities in different capacities as Senior Professor of Biotechnology, CUK, Karnataka, Professor Emeritus at JNTUH, Dean, Academic Affairs at MANUU, Hyderabad and Dean, Faculty of Technology and Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy, and Dean, Development & UGC Affairs, and also as Professor & Head of the Department, Chairman, BoS in Pharmacy and Biotechnology, Osmania University, Hyderabad.
He was trained at world prestigious universities (Oxford and Cambridge) and institutes (IIT, Delhi, Madras, Bombay and Kharagpur). He also got training under LEAP, a flagship scheme of MoE (then MHRD), GoI.
Prof. Ravinder Nath was nominated as an Expert Member & Resource Person at University, State and National level for Higher and Technical Education Governing Bodies including UGC and AICTE. He also served as Member, Convener and Chairman of various Policy Framework Committees of Higher Education System and instrumental in drafting 42+ Policy Documents and IDP’s. He is a Member, Expert Committee of UGC for formulating the guidelines for UGC-STRIDE Scheme, Establishment of R & D Cells in HEIs and Introduction of Research Internship for UG / PG Programs.
Prof Ravinder Nath, served Osmania University, for more than 30 Years as a performing faculty and researcher and was also instrumental in introduction of highly successful new programs of study such as Biotechnology, Food Technology and Pharmacy. He was instrumental in creation of various Central Facilities and also in establishing new organizational structures. He taught and trained quite good number of engineering and pharmacy students at B.Tech., M.Tech., M.Pharm. & PhD level. Till date, under his Supervision 18 Doctorate Degrees and 98 Masters Dissertations were awarded, besides he also mentored and advised 2 PDF’s , over 30+ UG Students and a recipient of prestigious UGC- BSR Faculty Fellowship. The strength of his research is evident from the selected publications in high impact factor scientific journals numbering more than 100+ papers with 1700+ citations with an H-Index of 21 and i10 Index 39. He successfully executed 5 research projects funded by GoI agencies (MHRD, AICTE & UGC) and 3 sponsored projects by the industry, One Departmental project and 3 Institutional Projects (TEQIP-I, UGC-UPE and RUSA 1.0) at College and University level.
His abilities are testified from his participation in more than 20 International Conferences by visiting 23 Countries and also delivered 200+ Lectures in 100+ Institutions across the Nation.
He held number of honours and awards as a scholar and faculty; He is recipient of CSIR Fellowship, Incentive Fellowship Award by the State Government, Young Scientist Travel Award by the CSIR, Visiting Scientist Travel Award by the UGC and PDF Award under Exchange Visitor Program of US Department of State, USA. Teacher’s Excellence Award by Confederation of Educational Excellence, New Delhi and Professional Achievers Award by Association Pharmacy Professionals, Bhopal, Bharat Excellence Award for contributions in Education and Research sector by Braino Vision, Hyderabad and a Citation Award for Outstanding Contributions in Life Science Technologies by Zoological Society of India, Kolkata, India, Merit of Excellence Award in the field of Natural Products in Pharmaceutical Application by Institute of Indigenous Medicine, Colombo, Sri Lanka.
He is an active member in various professional bodies and also alumni associations.
