It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Politics and Governance at the Central University of Kashmir.

The Department of Politics and Governance is a dynamic space that promotes affordable and inclusive education for all students interested in a degree in political science. The department offers a full time two year Masters in Arts Programme which prioritised accessibility for all. Further, the Ph.D. programme offered by the department focuses on promoting new knowledge production in the field of political science.

Our department is committed to fostering intellectual curiosity and a deeper understanding of political theory, public administration, public institutions, regional politics, international affairs and security studies. Our department encourages students to question, research, and develop informed perspectives on the complex political, sociocultural, economic and discursive issues shaping our world.

Through dedicated teaching, research and co-curricular academic activities, we aim to equip our students with the intellectual and analytical skills that will help them develop into critical, informed and responsible individuals. I warmly welcome all our students and wish you success.
