Mr Irfan Ahmed Noorani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology at the Central University of Kashmir, Ganderbal, Jammu & Kashmir, India, where he has been serving since September 2016. He holds a B.Sc. from the University of Jammu, followed by an M.Sc. in Zoology from the same University, both completed with First Division. He has qualified CSIR-UGC-NET, CSIR-UGC-NET JRF, JK-SET, and GATE in Life Sciences, and is pursuing his PhD in Zoology at the Central University of Kashmir. His areas of specialization include Aquatic Biology, Applied Entomology and Insect Molecular Taxonomy. He has 10 years of teaching and research experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Mr Noorani has made significant contributions to academic administration and institutional activities at the Central University of Kashmir. He has served in various capacities, including Nodal Officer, DIQA for CBCS Courses; Nodal Officer, DIQA for NAAC; Deputy Director, Dean Students Welfare; and Academic Coordinator, Department of Zoology. His research contributions include publications in areas such as aquatic biology, fish pathology, insect pest management, enzymatic alterations and fish microbiota, in addition to published book chapters. He has presented research papers at national and international conferences and has actively participated in numerous scientific conferences, seminars, workshops and webinars. He has also contributed to the organization and coordination of academic and scientific events, reflecting his sustained engagement in teaching, academic administration and institutional development.
