My research investigates physical phenomena in novel quantum materials—specifically 2D van der Waals (vdW) magnets, transition metal dichalcogenides, and their heterostructures—for low-power, high-speed memory applications. Using first-principles calculations and spin dynamics simulations, I explore complex magnetic interactions, spin-orbit coupling effects, and many-body physics, collaborating closely with experimentalists to understand microscopic mechanisms. Additionally, I apply machine learning to formulate descriptors that predict various physical properties of new nanomaterials useful for renewable energy applications.
