Dr. Abdul Roof Rather

Abdul Roof Rather is an Assistant Professor of Physical Education at Central University of Kashmir, Teaching Sports Psychology, Health and Fitness and Yoga. Previously, Dr. A. R. Rather worked as an assistant professor at Government College of Physical Education Gadoora, Ganderbal. He completed his Bachelor of Physical Education (B.P.Ed) and Master of Physical Education (M.P.Ed) from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University Maharashtra and Graduated from Aligarh Muslim University Aligarh, India with a Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Physical Education. He had qualified UGC-NET.  Dr. A. R. Rather has published many research papers in national and international journals. Besides that he has published book chapters in Web of Science and a book on ‘Recreation: with reference to ancient games’. 

Dr. Abdul Roof Rather worked with International Society For Physical Activity And Health USA to translate “The Bangkok Declaration on Physical Activity for Global Health and Sustainable Development”, which is a global advocacy document.
Dr. Abdul Roof Rather also worked with Global Observatory for Physical Activity USA on a project aimed at knowing the country wise physical activity status. The results of that study were published by Human Kinetics USA. find ( https://doi.org/10.1123/jpah.2022-0464 )
