About the Programme
The M.A. in Philosophy and Religious Studies is a postgraduate programme designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of philosophical traditions, religious thought, ethical systems, and contemporary issues related to human existence, society, and culture. The programme engages with Indian and Western philosophies, comparative religion, Buddhist philosophy, and diverse religious traditions, fostering critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and interdisciplinary inquiry. It encourages students to explore questions concerning knowledge, reality, morality, spirituality, social justice, and interfaith dialogue through systematic study and research. By integrating theoretical perspectives with contemporary social and ethical concerns, the programme aims to develop intellectually capable, socially responsible, and academically prepared graduates for careers in teaching, research, civil services, cultural institutions, and other professional fields.
