Dr. Rigzen Gurmet

Rigzen Gurmet is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at the Central University of Kashmir. He completed his studies at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Varanasi. Subsequently, he did his MA, PhD, and M.Phil at the University of Delhi, specializing in the Drukpa Kagyud tradition of Tibetan Buddhism, with research focusing on its lineage and practice. His academic interests include Nalanda Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, Buddhist psychology, Buddhist ethics, Philosophy of compassion and loving-kindness, and Himalayan Buddhist traditions. He taught at the University of Delhi, Arunachal University of Studies, and international institutions in Vietnam, Bhutan, and Thailand. Dr. Gurmet has published research papers and books on Tibetan Buddhism and universal ethics, contributed to curriculum development, and actively participated in national and international conferences. He also serves on the editorial boards of journals related to religion and Nalanda Buddhism, and has been involved in various educational, cultural, and social initiatives that promote Himalayan Buddhist heritage, language, and community welfare.
