Dr. Jehirul Islam

Dr Jehirul Islam is currently serving as Associate Professor and Academic Coordinator in the Department of Law, School of Legal Studies, Central University of Kashmir. In addition, Dr Jehirul Islam is also serving as Dean Students Welfare, Central University of Kashmir. He has more than 16 years of experience in teaching in various reputed institutions, including Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, School of Law, Karnavati University, Gandhinagar, Adani Institute of Infrastructure Management, Ahmedabad, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi. Dr Jehirul Islam has joined Department of Law, Central University of Kashmir in December 2023 as Associate Professor of Law. He has done International Post-Doctoral Programme in New Technologies and Law (2021-2022) from Mediterranea International Centre for Human Rights Research, Mediterranea University, Reggio Calabria, Italy. He has completed his Ph.D. from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar in 2020 on the research topic titled “Assessment of Consumer Protection in E-Commerce under the Indian Legal Framework: An Analytical Study with Special Reference to the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 (now the Consumer Protection Act, 2019) and the Information Technology Act, 2000”. Dr Jehirul Islam did BSL.LL.B. in 2008 and LL.M. in 2010 from University of Pune. He has qualified UGC NET (2012). He has contributed more than twenty-two (22) Research Articles/Book Chapters in various reputed national and international journals/Books. He has also presented papers and delivered lectures as resource person in numerous national and international seminars, conferences, workshops and training programmes. He has been awarded with NEPNI AWARD OF EXCELLENCE-2023 in recognition to his outstanding contribution in the field of legal education and research by NEPNI Group of Institutions. His areas of interest are Consumer and Competition Law, Law of Insolvency and Bankruptcy, Company Law, ADR, International Trade Law and Law of Contract.
