Prof. Sandhya Tiwari

Sandhya Tiwari is a Professor, Department of English, School of Languages, Central University of Kashmir. She was awarded Masters, M.Phil. and Ph.D in English by Osmania University, Telangana. A results-driven academician with over two decades of experience in teaching, research, and administration, she is dedicated to fostering a passion for learning among students, scholars, and colleagues by utilizing creativity and alternative thinking to expand their knowledge and create an engaging environment. As the founding Director, she established the Centre for English Language Training (CELT) at Palamuru University, where she trained over 1200 students and 70 faculty members, annually, in English Language Communication and Soft Skills. She has coordinated various national and international academic events and activities in various capacities like Head of the Department, BoS Chairperson, Director, CELT, Director IQAC etc. She collaborated with UGC HRDCs, Telangana State Council for Higher Education, ICSSR etc financial assistance and various journals. Some prominent  programmes are Two-week Refresher Course in "Quality Research & Teaching Methodology", One-Week FDPs on "Remapping Teaching and Research in English Language and literature: approaches, Methods & Techniques" and "21st Century Skills for Professional Success" and others. Dr. Sandhya Tiwari has made significant contributions to research and publications. She works in the area of Gender Studies, Women's Writings, Postcolonial Studies, Indian Writings in English, South Asian Literature and Diaspora Studies and has authored over 120 research articles, 18 books and 25 book chapters. She chaired 45 technical sessions; delivered 28 plenary talks, 2 Keynote addresses and adjudicated over 100 M.Phil. and Ph.D theses. She featured in many Regional and National talk shows and panel discussions. One of her major accomplishments includes coordination as the Master of Ceremony for Osmania University's "All India Vice-Chancellors Conference" organised as part of OU Centenary Celebrations. She is presented with several awards like Rashtriya Gaurav Award, Prof. Shahane Memorial Award, Distinguished Researcher Award, Award of Academic Excellence, Best Faculty Award.
